School House Day Care
2 - 4 years
Toddler Room
Our Toddler Room provides high-quality care and education for children aged 2–3 in a safe, stimulating, and well-supervised environment. We continue to focus on the Prime Areas of Learning while encouraging growing independence, confidence, and self-help skills.
We support key milestones such as potty training, working closely with parents and following guidance from ERIC to ensure consistency between home and nursery. Children are encouraged to develop social skills through shared play, forming friendships, and learning to cooperate with others.
Language and communication develop rapidly at this age and are supported through daily interactions and play-based learning. Independence is promoted at mealtimes and with dressing, helping children build confidence and practical life skills.
Alongside the Prime Areas, children are introduced to the Specific Areas of Learning, including early mathematics, literacy, creative play, and understanding the world. Children enjoy regular outdoor play in our secure garden and benefit from role play, sensory experiences, and hands-on learning.
Parents receive daily updates via the Parent Zone App, including diaries, photographs, and weekly observations. The room operates with a 1:5 staffing ratio and the building is fully covered by CCTV to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Pre-School
Our Preschool prepares children for a confident transition to school, supporting development across all areas of learning in line with the EYFS, with a strong focus on school readiness.
Children take part in daily routines such as self-registration, group stories, and songs, building independence, language, listening, and social skills. Learning is planned around children’s interests and development, supporting early phonics, reading, writing, number skills, and letter formation.
Fine motor skills are strengthened through activities such as finger gym, while continuous provision encourages creativity through art, construction, sensory, messy, and scientific play. Children also benefit from interactive learning using technology to explore topics and extend understanding.
Independence and confidence are encouraged through self-care routines, mealtimes, and managing personal belongings. Social and emotional development is supported through group work, role play, and cooperative learning.
Parents receive daily updates via the Parent Zone App, including diaries, photographs, and weekly observations. The room operates with a 1:8 staffing ratio and is fully covered by CCTV to ensure a safe and secure environment.
